Accommodation search - Advanced

Use Advanced accommodation search to carry out detailed searches for hostels and other accommodation projects in London. There is also a Quick accommodation search under Quick links which you can use to carry out simpler searches.

You can select options from one or more of the different sections on the search page.

  • To make sure that the largest number of appropriate services are returned only search on the options that are particularly important to you.
  • Text - type in a word or phrase. Choose to Limit text search to the service name, address or all fields. Any results returned will contain all the words you type in. Use "quotation marks" if you want to look for an exact phrase.
  • Type of accommodation – select one or more accommodation type.
  • Accept referrals from – select projects that will accept self referrals or those that take referrals from any agency.
  • Gender – select projects that Will accept men or Will accept women. Only select Men only, Women only or Mixed if these types of hostel are particularly important to you.
  • Age – enter an age to search for hostels that accept people of that particular age.
  • Age group – select Older people or Young people if you particularly want hostels that are for these age groups only.
  • Full wheelchair access – select for projects that have at least one wheelchair accessible bedspace.
  • Accept or target – select from a range of people and issues that a project may specifically target or support.
  • Area – tick each local authority area that you want to search for hostels in. Select another region if you want to search outside London (you must first select Search in, Homeless UK). Select Anywhere in... if you want to search in a whole region rather than a specific local authority area.
  • If you are logged on as a registered agency you can see information about hostel vacancies and select whether you want to Show only those projects with Current vacancies, Projects that update vacancies or All projects.
